Tailored Tuition offers professional tutoring in maths and English for children between the ages of 5 to 18. We also specialise in Eleven Plus tuition for children who wish to sit the entrance exams for Ermysteds’ and Skipton Girls’ High.
We offer high quality, personalised sessions in our dedicated tuition centre, situated on the High Street between Skipton Library and Harry Garlick. Our well-equipped centre provides a friendly and stimulating environment, enabling children to feel comfortable and well supported.
Our team of fully qualified teachers all work in schools and attend regular training insets on the new curriculum, we can therefore assure you that we use up to date methods and techniques that will reinforce your child’s learning.
We initially carry out a FREE assessment to determine your child’s strengths and areas that require further development. Upon completion of the assessment, the results are discussed together so you are fully involved in the process. If we feel that your child does not require tuition, we will tell you at this point. An individual programme of study is written specifically for your child to ensure progress is made. Feedback is given at the end of each session to keep you well informed of your child’s progress.

SATS
Personalised Attention
SATS are used by schools to assess a child's academic ability and to see how each child is progressing in comparison with children of the same age nationally. These tests are taken in Years 2 and 6 towards the end of the school calendar in May. For many children SATS will be their first introduction to any kind of formal testing. The SATS results in year 6 are sometimes used to place your child in academic sets of the same ability in secondary school. Our tutors help prepare children by offering advice on learning, practice papers and tips on time management and exam technique.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOUR CHILD?
We recognise that every child is unique and has a preferred learning style. We therefore design a learning program tailored to your child's individual needs and ability. Our individualised programmes will introduce new concepts, reinforce content covered in school and challenge a child who is already excelling. The activities are carefully planned each week to ensure weaker areas are addressed and built upon. Regular attendance will help your child improve and give an immediate confidence boost.
Once your child begins to find learning fun, they enjoy their success and become happier and motivated to learn.
HOW ARE THE TUITION SESSIONS STRUCTURED?
We provide a positive and fun learning environment to enable your child to progress. Our tutors’ expertise’ are matched carefully to each student’s individual requirements so we can guarantee that your child will improve. Each session includes one-on-one attention with a tutor and a combination of computer-based activities and written work in a small group learning environment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD MISSES A SESSION?
Each student is given a weekly time slot and regular attendance at our centre is encouraged in order for your child to make good progress. We do appreciate that attendance may not always be possible due to illness or other events. In this instance, we ask that missed lessons are paid for and as much notice as possible is given so that your slot can be used by others who may require a catch up session. Provided we are given 24 hours notice, we will arrange a free catch up session for your child at the earliest opportunity.
